Buyer Critiques
I bought the 2 camera method and this camera is Super! Yes you have to run a wire to power it (Duh!). But the signal is sent via 2.4ghz. RF (the wireless portion). You can mount the tiny DVR anywhere that you can get reception. I have mine down in the Den next to my recliner, but, you can move it simply if you desire to monitor from, say, the kitchen. The two way "intercom" is good to have!
If you need power outage protection, you will will need to install a ups power outlet for each camera (use a single for a laptop and hook the camera supply into the outlet from the ups)
I set up the technique and installed two cameras in an afternoon without the need of any stress. It did take a little planning, but, it was actually straightforward.
It is a lot more affordable than the multi thousand dollar systems. And the pictures (even after dark) are spectacular!
I have this up and running for one particular month and it is excellent...the image good quality is beneficial, sound high quality good, and night vision is beneficial, I would get this again..A+
