Client Critiques

Beneficial protected. Poor instructions.
The actions needed to plan a Personal Passcode (page 5) are incorrect. Tried a number of occasions then known as Buyer Assistance (800-223-8566). The correct sequence is as follows:
1. Secure open, bolts extended, door deal with in down position.
two. Open plastic cover.
three. Press reset button in door.
4. Enter new passcode on keypad followed by .
five. Enter new passcode once again followed by .
6. Green light = passcode altered successfully.
The instruction manual has 2 and 3 reversed.

Not a bad protected, but I identified the initial programming infuriating. I consider myself to be quite knowledgeable with most items electronic, but the directions for programming the combination that came with my safe were just flat incorrect. The instruction tell you to push in the mixture reset button, then enter the new code twice. I did this over and more than and over and over. Would not accept new code. Soon after a couple of tries it would lock the mechanism requiring me to wait 15 minutes prior to trying once more. I was just about to throw the issue by means of the window (no small feat) and I decided to try anything diverse: Enter the preset code Initially, then press the rest button, then the new code twice and...it functions! Only situation is, the manual never says anything about entering the old code first (main GRRRRRR). There are a lot of other errors in the manual (like saying the preset code is 159, but it's really 159, and telling you the new password need to be between three-8 numbers lengthy, then showing two numbers minimum in their graphic) I sent an e mail to Honeywell about the incorrect and confusing directions...no response. Poor, negative, negative.
A single other factor I honestly feel is poorly done is the cheesy plastic cover that you have to lift up each time you enter the mixture. It is beyond cheap, and tends to make a loud "snap" noise each time you flip it open. It will clearly not be extremely lengthy prior to it cracks and falls off.
And 1 final thing you just gotta love: I went to [...] tonight to download the manual. Website no longer exists. No message, no forward, nothing at all. Went to Honeywell's principal internet site, and there is absolutely nothing mentioning something about safes anyplace. I lastly identified out through extensive googling that Honeywell safes are now sold by Initially Alert! I went to Very first Alert's web site and was able to download the manual (which nonetheless has all of the above errors, by the way). But Honeywell have to have about the worst customer service I have ever heard of - they sell a item line to one more company, and then shut down the web-site and act like it never ever existed
Just after all of that complaining, I will say it is a decent safe (except for the cheap plastic cover on the keypad), but there are significantly improved ones on the market place for about the same value.
